BTS’s V voted 'umbrella-ready sweetheart' in weekly K-pop poll

V of BTS has been voted the "umbrella-ready sweetheart" — the artist fans think would be most likely to offer someone an umbrella on a rainy day — in a poll hosted by fan-voting platform Picnic.

In the poll, which ran from June 5 to 19, V topped the rankings with 533,824 votes. Asa of girl group BabyMonster came in second with 221,672 votes, followed by Keonho of boy band Cortis with 218,750 votes.

According to Picnic, fans cited V's considerate personality and character as reasons for their choice.

The platform pointed to several recent moments from BTS's ongoing "Arirang" world tour that drew praise from fans. During the band's meeting with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at the National Palace in Mexico, V was spotted adjusting the microphone height for the president before she spoke. At a concert in Belgium, he also gave the jacket he was wearing to an emotional fan, gestures that many fans viewed as examples of his thoughtfulness.

Picnic said the poll reflects a growing trend among K-pop fans to value artists' personalities, empathy and interactions with fans alongside their musical achievements.

The platform hosts weekly polls on a wide range of K-pop topics in collaboration with the Korea JoongAng Daily.

Fans can participate in the polls through Picnic's official website or mobile app.
