Producer Bumzu [PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT]
Bumzu, producer of boy band Seventeen, won the top prize at the Korea Music Copyright Association (Komca) Awards for the third consecutive year on Wednesday.
Bumzu won the Grand Prize at the Komca Awards, which is held in February every year, his agency Pledis Entertainment and Komca said Thursday. The awards honor the composer and lyricist who each earned the most copyright income from their work in the previous year, as well as other achievements, such as the Best Rearrangement and Most Streamed Song.
“Bumzu is a K-pop hitmaker who solidified his status as a leading songwriter by producing global hits such as Seventeen’s ‘Thunder’ (2025), ‘Love, Money Fame’ (2024) and ‘Super’ (2023),” Komca said.
Bumzu has registered more than 350 songs with Komca to date, according to the association.
“I am truly grateful for this honor,” Bumzu said through a statement released by Pledis Entertainment. “I will continue to repay listeners with music that brings genuine comfort and joy.”
A new winner, composer Hong Ji-sang of JYP Entertainment, was crowned in the Best Rearrangement category. Cho Young-soo had previously won the award for five consecutive years.
Children’s songwriter Ahn Joong-hyun won the Dongyo Award for children's music, while songwriter Han Tae-soo won in the gugak (traditional Korean music) category for the second time.
