Han River swimming pools and playgrounds open for summer

Six riverside facilities across Seoul will run through Aug. 30, with nighttime hours available at four locations.

Seoul’s Han River swimming pools and water playgrounds opened Friday and will operate until Aug. 30, the Seoul Metropolitan Government said.

The facilities will operate at six locations: Ttukseom in Gwangjin District, Yeouido and Yanghwa in Yeongdeungpo District, Nanji in Mapo District, Jamsil in Songpa District and Gwangnaru in Gangdong District.

The pools will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with nighttime hours from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. starting July 3. Yanghwa and Gwangnaru will not offer nighttime operations.

The facilities will operate without scheduled closing days, with operations subject to suspension in case of heavy rain or facility-related issues.

Admission to the swimming pools at Ttukseom and Yeouido costs 5,000 won ($3.25) for adults, 4,000 won for youths and 3,000 won for children. Water playgrounds at Gwangnaru, Nanji, Yanghwa and Jamsil charge 3,000 won for adults, 2,000 won for youths and 1,000 won for children.

Online reservations are available through Naver for Yeouido, Nanji and Yanghwa.
