The Egyptian Defense Complex opened in Seongbuk District, northern Seoul, on Wednesday evening, establishing a new landmark to enhance defense and military cooperation between Korea and Egypt.
The inauguration ceremony featured high-level dignitaries, including Ambassador Hazem Zaki and leaders from Egypt’s Military Intelligence Authority, alongside Korean defense officials and industry partners like Hanwha Aerospace.
"We promise that this building will not just be an administrative headquarters, but a bridge for communication, a platform for exchanging expertise and a home for every Egyptian and member of the defense system on the land of friendly Korea," said Egyptian Defense Attache to Korea Commodore Ahmed Elhadidi in his opening speech. "It shall be a starting point for enhancing mutual understanding and achieving shared interests between the two countries."
