HBO's 'Task,' co-produced by Korean studio SLL's U.S. label, earns six Emmy nominations

The crime series earned nods for Outstanding Lead Actor for Mark Ruffalo, as well as for Outstanding Supporting Actor, directing and writing.

HBO’s crime drama series “Task” (2025–) has been nominated for six Emmys, production studio SLL said Tuesday.

The series was co-created by wiip, the U.S. label of SLL, a Korean film and TV production company known for popular works such as the period film "King's Warden" and Netflix's cooking survival show "Culinary Class Wars" (2024–).

The show’s leading actor, Mark Ruffalo, has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series, along with Tom Pelphrey, who has been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series.

Director Salli Richardson-Whitfield has been nominated for Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series and Alex Disenhof has been nominated for Outstanding Cinematography For A Series (One Hour).

Both Keiko Deguchi and Amy E. Duddleston has been nominated for Outstanding Picture Editing For A Drama Series.

The show follows an FBI agent who is investigating a serial robbery in the suburbs of Philadelphia and a family man who has found himself in a series of crimes for his family.

Brad Ingelsby, the creator of the HBO limited series “Mare of Easttown” (2021) starring Kate Winslet, a show also produced by wiip, has returned as creator and executive producer for “Task.” He has been nominated for Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series.

The show was renewed for a second season by HBO in November 2025.

“We owe the Emmy nominations of ‘Task’ to the talented actors and the dedicated creative team,” said an SLL representative. “SLL and wiip will both continue to create world-class content in collaboration with global partners and outstanding creators.”
