BTS will take over New Yorks famed Top of the Rock, or the top of the Rockefeller Center, as the megaband adds new locations to its “BTS The City Arirang - New York” citywide event.

Starting on Friday, the Top of the Rock will feature red posters, merchandise and other decorations — the key color of BTS’s most recent album, “Arirang” — and symbols related to the band, including a large vinyl “Arirang” logo on the terrace.

BTS’s “The City” project, which has already taken place in Las Vegas and London, consists of community engagement activities and cultural experiences tailored to their respective city.

From Friday to Aug. 9,  the New York edition of the program will collaborate with Big Bus Tours to operate double-decker buses that play the band’s music and run a special route that includes Times Square, the Empire State Building and Koreatown.

BTS’s short-form documentary “Keep Swimming” will be screened at the “Arirang Theater” in the basement of the Korean Culture Center New York.

As one of the community engagement programs, the Bank of Hope’s Manhattan branch will host a stamp rally. During a stamp tour, participants receive a stamp after visiting a location and can usually exchange a certain number of stamps for a reward. For each participant’s check-in, the bank will donate $1 to support financial literacy.

Other community engagement programs include collaborations with famous Korean restaurants and performances by K-pop dance crews.

At “Army Madang” at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal, the outfits worn by the septet during its concert at Wembley Stadium in Britain in 2019 will be on display. Visitors will also have the opportunity to customize T-shirts. Participation will be limited to those who have registered in advance.

The New York edition of “The City” comes ahead of BTS’s upcoming concert at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Aug. 1 and 2 as part of its ongoing “Arirang” world tour.
